There are several access points in the park. The best one might be at the north end, near the water works building. Follow the gravel road, stop beside the building, then walk to the river (it's in sight). For other access points, continue south along the trail that parallels the river. Some spots are muddier than others. There are a number of snags across the river which would make it impossible to take a canoe through this area, and portaging does not look very easy at those spots since the banks are 3 or more feet above the water.
