Boston Hollow Road
This is a well-known birding hot spot in Connecticut, particularly at the northern end. Many Audubon Society and Yale University field trips come to this beautiful area. Frank Gallo's Birding in Connecticut dedicates five pages to detailed descriptions of the birds that can be found here, and their likely locations on the route, which includes Boston Hollow Road and Barlow Mill Road (incorrectly identified in the book as Axe Factory Road). Load the Merlin app onto your phone, grab your binoculars and spot a new-to-you species. Best birding is mid-May to mid-June, but there are unusual birds there all year round.
